“ Still the #1 Chinese (non-Canto) Yunnan restaurant in all of Vegas. I don't think there is any other place I'd say is decent Chinese food in Vegas because there really isn't any. All their dishes will be decent where as many other places are just 1 carboload dish or such. If you like China Mama (which is a awful to me), I'd suggest and think Panda Express is better than China Mama. Eaters not accustomed to non-Westernized food, may not appreciate the dishes or taste here....or maybe you're looking to grow your experience with this place? Menu is via QR code to a website menu with photos. The prices are like LA prices. This place is better for bigger parties so a party of 1 or 2 isn't too affordable/or fun. Just like dim sum is much more dish fun with more ppl to order a variety. Regular locals here will be celebrating their holidays, celebrations, memorials, occasions, etc here. (The Chinese and Taiwanese community). ”

“ What we got: House special deep fried fish fillet w/ dry pepper ($18.99) -- this was really good I'd get it again, big fish chunks Sliced Pork Belly W/ Garlic Sauce ($16.99) -- classic northern Chinese dish, good vinegar sauce and fatty cuts of pork belly Spicy boiling beef tripe & pork blood & pork intestine ($23) -- lots of pork blood and meat included, super spicy!! We also got a create your own bowl which ended up being about $27 and less spicy than the mala bowl on their menu. The portions are good and this was more than enough for 4 people. All the food also came out quick ”

“ This is my favorite malatang place. The malaxiangguo is really good as well. I think I come here about once every week. I can really taste the authentic mala flavor, which I haven't been able to find at other places. They offer just enough variety of ingredients, and I love that they have duck blood too. The spice level is exactly what I like. I usually go with spicy level 2, and it's perfect. The ambiance is nice, the music isn't too loud or too quiet. The service is great, the staff are always friendly. I highly recommend this place! ”

“ Yunnan is a very authentic spot to enjoy Chinese/Szechuan dishes! The interior is simple yet welcoming for casual dining. You can walk in and choose to make your own hot pot (wet or dry) which is self serve -- one pot for veggies and a second pot for your meat selections. I highly recommend adding the sweet potato noodles! Mala Tang Dry Stir Hot Pot 10/10 - absolutely love their numbing/tingling spices and flavor, I usually get medium or spicy - our hotpot includes sweet potato noodles, beef, rice cake, quail eggs, fish cake, bean curd, fried tofu, and a small amount of spinach - noodles and rice cake were so, so chewy and addicting - beef is oiled up with all the spices and delicious I'm not from the area, but every time I crave Szechuan I think about this place! Service is average and food comes out relatively quick. ”

“ The food and prices here are just fantastic. We were a group with a range of spice tolerance and ordered some dishes mild and others spicy. All were delicious, with exactly the range of heat requested. We especially appreciated that the mild dishes (cumin lamb, twice cooked pork belly, and crispy fish filet) were not bland at all, and had tons of seasoning, just less heat. The spicier cumin beef (wonderfully tender and juicy), Dan Dan noodles, and diced fried chicken were outstanding, too. It's an ordinary storefront room. Service was lightning fast and polite. We do think there was one mistake, perhaps because of the language barrier. We ordered the stir fried typhoon shelter squid. We got squid on skewers in chili oil, which seems to be the previous dish on that section of the menu. This turned out to be the least memorable part of the meal -- still worth eating, but nothing special and not what we had in mind. We didn't realize this was a restaurant mistake until I was looking back at the menu for this review, so we never gave them a chance to fix it. We would still be happy to return any time. ”

“ Yunnan Tasty Garden is actually so incredibly legit, so much so that it may be a bit inaccessible to non-Chinese people. As in, they have specials boards written only in Chinese. There are really two concepts in one restaurant, you can assemble your own hotpot or stir-fried drypot cooked to order and charged by weight, or order regular dishes from the kitchen menu. Both options are top-tier in their category. (Be careful with the spice level you ask for, they do not go easy on it here!) Ideally you're able to come here with a Chinese friend to help parse the menu, but the staff speak enough English to effectively answer your questions as well. Give it a try! ”
